The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking Instructors for it's Learn to Ice Skate programs.

The position is year round part time including Saturday and Sunday mornings and some weekday afternoons. You do not need to be available for all time slots to apply. The Learn to Skate Instructor will teach ice skating skills to youth and adults using the "Learn to Skate USA" curriculum and organize groups of participants through different drills and activities with safety and overall improvement as a priority.


  • Must have significant knowledge and/or experience skating
  • Ability to organize groups of people effectively
  • Know how to break down a skill and explain it so that participants can understand and perform the skill
  • Instructor must communicate and work with a variety of people including children, staff, and community members
  • Practice excellent customer service.
  • Attend all trainings and meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the YMCA participants by enforcing all rules and regulations set forth by the organization.

To protect our community, all employees will be required to provide proof of having received a COVID-19 vaccination by November 1, 2021. New employees, outside of licensed childcare staff, hired after November 1, 2021, will be required to show proof of at least 1st dose of vaccine before their first shift. They will then have 30 days to provide proof of full vaccination.

Salary range is $12.32 - 17.50/hour based on experience and certifications. And there are great benefits, too. Part time staff working more than 15 hours each week are eligible for free individual and discounted family membership as well as 25%-50% off most YMCA of Northern Colorado program fees for themselves and qualifying family members (including personal training, swim lessons, after school programs, day camp programs and more) on a space available basis. Additional benefits include earned sick time and contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.
