The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator based at our Arapahoe Branch in Lafayette. This position is responsible for the organization, delivery, and quality of aquatics programming. This includes planning, developing, evaluating, modifying, expanding and supervising all programs and services offered by the aquatics department. You will also assist with guarding pools in our association.

You are a boss. You have experience creating a work environment that fosters positivity, creativity, teamwork, and hard work. You are comfortable with -- nay, you love – being a lifeguard, implementing policies, scheduling and doing work that some may consider dull...but you certainly would not! As a manager, you are detail oriented and proactive.

You are a problem-solver and a communicator: You can have a serious conversation with a 2-year-old about sharing, update a mom on swim lesson offerings and talk about aquatics opportunities for seniors all within a five-minute period.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 20. Minimum 3 years lifeguard experience.
  • Current YMCA Lifeguard, Red Cross Lifeguard, or equivalent certification.
  • Current First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Oxygen Administration certification.
  • Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
  • Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Past supervisory experience is preferred.

Hiring Salary Range: $15-16/hour based on experience; position is 30-34 hours per week and we offer a 10% differential for bilingual staff fluent in Spanish and English. The benefits package in this category includes medical, dental, vision insurance options, three (3) paid floating holidays, and sick time, free YMCA family membership, 50% reduced rates on YMCA of Northern Colorado programs. In addition, we provide contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.

To protect our community, all Licensed Child Care Employees will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 1, 2021 or prior to hire. Since all Full-Time YMCA Employees may be called upon to interact with our children and families in our licensed school age programs they too are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 1, 2021 or prior to hire.
