Great co-workers and discounted membership opportunities

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for a fearless leader. ...The kind of leader who has the gumption to guide a large group of children through games, homework and countless refrigerator-worthy art projects. The kind of leader who has the energy, charisma and patience to ensure the kids become strong, smart, thriving young adults. The kind of leader who doesn't mind getting hit with a few stray dodge balls every now and then.

Are you that fearless leader? We think you might be. But first, you probably want to know what you are fearlessly leading.

The YMCA of Boulder Valley is looking for creative, enthusiastic mid level program staff to join our fast-growing before- and after-school programs. We are expanding at rates never before seen (anywhere, ever), and we need the help of passionate, dependable, happy people like you to ensure we can support all the bouncy, curious kids who need our care.

The ideal candidate radiates fun but balances that positive energy and playfulness with maturity, thoughtfulness and experience in actively engaging with youth in a safe, healthy manner.

Part Time: 10 to 20 hours per week, M-F during the school year. Salary is $11.50-14/hour

Regular: School year with FT job opportunities in summer.

Shifts/Hours: Program begins 3 pm M-F and additional opportunities for up to 28 hours per week are available.

General Job Duties: The program leader ensures a safe and challenging environment while also implementing our core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Activities may include homework help, gym and group games, arts and crafts, science, drama and dance. This position will provide support for family members and other staff, and they will implement programming with some input into planning. Staff must be able to independently supervise a group of 12-15 children.

To apply for a Program Leader position , you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting.  Documentation includes, but is not limited to: YMCA reference forms, letters of recommendation on official letterhead, and school transcripts.
  • Supply documentation of current certification or become certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Provide 3 written references.

A positive attitude and closed toed shoes are required.
